Artist Statement/About
Talented child Artist Maitha Khalil Abdulwahid is blessed with creative genes. She is the daughter of Mr. Khalil Abdulwahid. His name is synonym with the vision of the Rulers of Dubai for the promotion of Artists, Art lovers and Art collectors by the Dubai Art and Culture Department. He is one of the pioneer Emirati artists and his Art works have enthralled the art loves for several decades. Maitha draws her encouragement from her father and mother Amira Abdulkareem Mohammed (mother).
Maitha, started to explore drawing at the age of two by experimenting with the makeup tools of her mother’s vanity. She is pursuing her talent diligently while being schooled in grade two at the Dubai National School, Dubai U.A.E.
Maitha is inspired by the Sustainability mission of the government and express her thoughts through drawings on paper and digital. She draws inspiration from critique of her artworks as she believes, this would help improve her technical skills and create more room for improvement.
She values the opinion of others for her artwork, as that gives her a chance to edit or create her digital artwork from the start to make it a perfect piece. This is one reason she often shares her process of creation for digital art as a finished piece of art.
She as a child feels that sharing the process of creation would help others inspire and learn to lay their hands on digital artworks. Her digital illustrations clearly point out her confidence, clarity of thoughts and fashion. She often tries to convey thought proving messages through her expressions on humanity.
Artist Statement
I am interested in sharing happiness through my artwork and help people to express their thoughts of their journey. I draw abstract figures and random events, or things which are important to me, and I care about. I try to capture the emotions of an event through digital artwork to give a message.
The inspiration to draw started with the support of my parents. My father Artist Khalil Abdulwahid introduced me to the world of art, when he started to teach me how to draw., and when my mother Amira Abdulkareem Mohammed explained the idea of creating, how to express myself. I was introduced to creating digital art by my cousin who is also an artist. I have been drawing since grade one. I like to express my emotions and my ideas and share them with everyone. I often think about the future and how can impact the world to be a better place with my artwork.
