Artist Statement/About
Aisha Mohammed Abdulkareem is a daughter of Mohammed Abdulkareem Mohammed (Father) and Thuraya Abdulwahid Abdullahrahman (mother). She is a fourteen-year-old Emirati girl. She is in grade IXth, studying at Alshoruoq Private School, Dubai U.A.E. Her interest in art can be seen in very early years of her beginning, as she was motivated to express herself through creating scribble of drawing and continues to express her emotions developing her skills towards creating digital artworks and traditional techniques too. She holds interest in the fashion world which is reflected in her artworks both digital and traditional.
Her mother Thuraya Abdulwahid Abdullahrahman and her uncle Khalil Abdulwahid are creative personalities, and she has taken the genes of creativity, which further pushes her to create and express through both digital and using traditional methods through illustrations, portraits, and artworks. She began to learn to express herself surfacing on internet, her interests and combined her ideas to make it into a beautiful art piece. Mostly she is now creating portraits because she loves to express herself through them and has created a path for herself to entertainment. Her portraits are fusion of comic style reflecting the confidence, aspirations, dreams, and life of Emirati girl. Her work is serious but full of excitement with positive vibes.
Artist Statement
I am interested in sharing happiness through my artwork and help people to relive beautiful moments of their journey. I draw portraits capturing emotions of an event which are common to all of us growing up both through digital and traditional techniques on paper and canvas. The inspiration to draw this comes to through internet surfing and the support of my mother Thuraya Abdulwahid Abdullahrahman. I combine the ideas from the internet and combine with my own ideas to create a beautiful portrait for people to enjoy as much as I do. I choose the colors following my intuition and sometimes I land up using unnatural colors in my artwork. My artwork for me is pure entertainment.
